Bradley Dean Moore has always been captivated by the power of myth. A lifelong devotee of fantasy and ancient lore, he draws inspiration from the timeless stories of gods, monsters, and heroes. Before turning to fiction, Moore channeled his storytelling through music, performing under the stage name Larshus and most recently My Life’s Despair, a gothic doom metal project where each song wove dark, emotional narratives. For him, the leap from songwriting to storytelling was only natural — both demand atmosphere, imagination, and a deep emotional core.
Legend of Young Achilles: A Hero Awakens is Moore’s debut novella, a vivid blend of classic Greek mythology and coming-of-age adventure. Determined to restore the epic feel of divine influence found in older tales, Moore gives the gods their rightful place among mortals — watching, guiding, and interfering.
“I remember when Troy came out, I wanted to love it — and I do like it — but I was disappointed,” Moore says. “There were no interactions with the gods. That was a huge missed opportunity. In the original Clash of the Titans, the gods were constantly involved. It gave the story gravity, mystery — a sense of destiny. I knew that if I ever wrote my own myth, the gods would have to be present.”
Bradley Dean Moore lives in San Diego and is currently working on the next book in the Legend of Young Achilles series.
